We did our first big hike today up to Refugio Frey, altitude 1759m. this was quite challenging as it was warm and a long ascent. We were welcomed at the refugio with a glass of squash and a sit down out of the wind. The location was stunning by a lake. As a few more weary people arrived we decided to sit outside on one of the wooden chairs provided- these were only about 6 inches above the ground but surprisingly comfortable. Kerry managed to fall off hers in front of the other people arriving. She can climb 1700 metres no problem but perch her 6 inches off the ground and she has no chance. Dave Bradburn if you're reading this please note I at least managed not to be sick! A hasty exit was made and went back down the mountain, much to the disgust of our aching knees!
