Today hiked to Laguna Torre. This was a bonus as at 8 this morning it didn't look as though we'd be going anywhere. This part of the world is known for it's strong winds- it's in the roaring 40s- and last night a storm brewed up. It had rained pretty much since lunchtime but overnight it went really wild. It sounded like the windows of the cabana were going to blow in! We left it till about 10:30 to leave, thinking we'll just go for it and come back if we have to...

Went on a shorter 'recovery' hike today to the mirador Cerro Torre. The weather started to turn so we came back at lunchtime. Thick cloud descended and it rained hard all afternoon so we ended up, like everyone else, in the pub for dos cerveza. Fortunately they have a lot of good microbreweries in Patagonia so the cerveza is good.

Up early today and out on the hike to Lago Los Tres. We both agreed this is the best day hike we've ever done, world class hiking. It was beautiful and clear when we set out and the hike was just perfect - well marked so no anxiety about route finding, plenty of it was level and open and the views were phenomenal.
