Day 27. Orlando. A very muggy 23 degs when we arose this morning with afternoon scattered thunderstorms predicted from a front moving in.
Canned having some more fun at Disney World and bought full day park to park tickets at Universal Studios Orlando Resort. Took a cab to the nearby resort to save our legs later on in the day.
Streams of people swarming into the entrance and all having to undergo bag inspection as was in the case at Walt Disney World. Our bags (packs) cleared ok and off we went. Nikita took on the challenge to do her first extreme roller coaster ride, "The Incredible Hulk Coaster" spinning, looping and twisting at warp speed. Continued on and did a couple of "wet" rides which lived up to their expectation and we both got well soaked - just what we needed in the 31 deg humid heat!
Entered Hogsmeade - the village from the Harry Potter movie series. Just a superbly recreated village with dozens of authentic stores selling a wide variety of product. Enjoyed a few theme rides then caught the Hogwarts Express to the other park and entered Diagon Alley (from the same movie) - once again, brilliant replication. Nikita was in her element, living the dream and playing the part dressing up in cloaks and casting spells with magic wands.
The park closed at 7.00 pm so at a fast walking pace we sprinted back to get the return shuttle bus, narrowly missing it just leaving the parking bay. The walk back took around 30 mins and we thought a swim in the pool would top the day off nicely, however it was closed for "safety reasons" because the rain had made the paving wet! Funnily enough we thought doesn't the paving get wet from splash out and people exiting the pool ?
The end of another enjoyable day; this time next week we will returning to NZ, time had certainly flown by.
