Hi Everyone,
We have had a lovely day, brilliant sunshine, rain, hail, lazy cool winds and good company.
After breakfast we rang Australia to wish Jordan a happy 10th Birthday he sounded so grown up and very Australian!!
We left to drive to the farm to meet up with Jean well before 10.30am in the sunshine along the narrow lanes with the praying places.
With Jean driving we headed for Lawrenny a pretty area on the Milford Haven, many years ago Jean and the family had a boat here and had many summers sailing the area.
We next headed for Carew, here there is the ruins of an ancient castle that I got out to take pictures of. Very pretty scene with the river in the foreground and the grey rock castle dominating the sky.
Driving over the old grey stone bridge across the river in the small village of Carew we stopped at the Carew Inn for lunch. I again had the warming hot vegetable soup with crusty bread - this is getting to be a habit.
Next we drove across the Neyland toll bridge over the Milford Haven towards Broad Haven, again along the pretty narrow country lanes with daffodills and primrose growing along the hedgerows. We drown on to Newgale stopping at the top of the hill to view the beautiful bay below, by this time the weather had changed, we could see it was already raining out over the ocean. There were a couple of wind surfers braving the ellements and the were certainly moving fast with windy conditions.
Driving down the hill we parked at the beach, Jean was brave enough to walk onto the beach to see the "Petrified Forest" that had been exposed due to the wild storms the area has experienced this winter. Us soft Aussies waited in the warm car, as we had walked up to the top of the beach from the car park we were almost blown away and snap frozen as well as being rained on!!!
Time to return to the farm, Jean had dinner cooking in her slow cooker and as we came through the door in smelt delicious.
After a lovely warming and delicious dinner with Jean we said our goodbyes to Maggie, Brian, Hannah and Rosie, before saying our farewells to my favourite aunt - Jean did ask how many I had left and I did have to admit she was the only one! None the less she is very special.
Tomorrow we move on, leaving our lovely "Stone-leigh" B & B at Clundewen, that we could thoroughly reccomend to all.
Chat again soon.
