Hi Everyone,
We woke to a lovely sunny morning, and decided to have a special bacon and egg breakfast for our last morning with Cyril and Megan, the owners of Stone-leigh House our B & B for the last 3 days, very nice place to stay.
We were on the road by 9.00am, Ray didn't answer his phone, Pat's husband who lives at the Mummbles near Swansea, so we set sally to direct us straight to Bath. With a stop in the outskirts of Swansea, for a break, we arrived in Bath just on noon. We found parking without too much trouble and made the short walk into town.
Bath is a very old Roman city with it's own distinctive architecture, I hadn't been here since childhood, Bill had not been before. We wandered around the old city centre enjoying seeing all the old buildings, the picture above is of "The Royal Crescent" one of the most famous and photographed streets in Bath. It is very pretty with the parklands stretching out below it sloping down the hill.
We didn't realise it when we had parked the the car, just how near the B & B we had booked was, well within walking distance. We soon got ourselves sorted out and booked in. Not quite as nice as the last B & B but clean, comfortable and the location is handy to the city.
We set off at 6.00pm walking to find somewhere nice for dinner, it felt really cold stepping outside but it was dry and we warmed up walking.
We found a lovely intimate Italian bistro called Rustico, just off the Royal Crescent and not far from our digs. Food was good and feeling warmed from the food and wine, we walked back into the city for another little wander around before returning to the B & B.
So ends another enjoyable day of travelling and exploring.
Chat again soon.
