Will-and-Marge's Great Adventure to Alaska
Don't forget to look at the recently uploaded pictures on the blog before this one. "Three Days"
Time Leaving: 8:20 a.m. Temp: 36 degrees High 62
Accrued miles to Date: 4115
Saying for the day: We are not here to live up to others' expectations, we are here to live up to God’s and to Glorify Him!.
We’ve decided to go all the way to Whitehorse today instead of stopping at Teslin Yukon Resort and RV.
We are blessed to have such beautiful mountain views for our drive here today. We get stopped for road work for about 15 mins and didn’t mind a bit!
10:00 a.m. and we cross the Continental Divide at 3300’; the panoramic view of the snow covered mountains is almost unworldly. For most of the day we felt like we’re traveling in a post card picture.
Met some folks from Tennessee and Florida and they were going to the same campground in Whitehorse that we are. Arrive at 1:30 and get set up in a pretty site at High Country RV Park. Whitehorse is a pretty town of about 30,000 people (Seems like Atlanta after hundreds of miles in the wilderness) and lots of shops and grocery stores, restaurants and hotels,(First Walmart in 900 miles) as well as other amenities. We’re a bit road weary and will spend 3 nights here. Visited for awhile with our new friends from TN.
Pics of the city tomorrow.
Where we stop next is undecided.
