Will-and-Marge's Great Adventure to Alaska
Temp: 37 degrees High 62
Saying for the day: "Be grateful for luck, pay the thunder no mind, listen to the birds, and don't hate nobody!"
Whitehorse Info: During the gold rush the only transportation between Whitehorse and Dawson City (GOLD) to the North was riverboat. Note old picture of back in the day and the riverboats.
We had a nice relaxing day today, went out in the morning and just drove around the downtown area, visited the Welcome Center and got some good information on things to see and do.
Did a little grocery shopping that was much needed and went to 'Klondike Rib & Salmon’ restaurant for lunch – Marge’s Mother’s Day lunch since we missed being able to do that on Mother’s Day. Had to wait for the return of some kind of civilization. We shared some Heavenly Halibut Chowder with a Bannock and Will had “Pork on your Fork” Wild Boar pulled pork and Marge had the “We Miss Bob” Halibut Burger. Oh my, what DEEELICIOUS food! The halibut chowder was superb! We then walked around the neat old downtown area and checked out the little shops. Got some pictures around the town and then headed back to the campground for the evening. (I at first wondered at first why the salt water fish specialty? Because the port of Skagway, Alaska is only 100 miles SW)
At High Country RV Park for two more nights. This is a beautiful, relaxing campground. We love Whitehorse also, maybe just because we haven't seen people in days.

June Chamberlin More wonderful adventures! Nice to see you back amongst the populace! I drool at your Mother's Day lunch! Sounds amazing.
June Chamberlin Oh, and thanks for the Mountie! I usually prefer mine without moose ears, but I'll take what I can get!
John Chess Will & Marge, what is the time change there? Also does it get dark there this time of year or just dusk? Keep the blog going as we love following it.
Pat Great photos! Love the small towns that we do not see much anymore. The old vehicles are neat as well. What a great adventure you guys are having!
BOB Nelson WOW !, HALIBUT, HALIBUT, HALIBUT , RUB IT IN !!!!! THOSE FRENCH FRIES LOOK ALOT BIGGER THAN WILL USUALLY GETS !
Clay Welsh Well it was 85 degrees today and there are a lot of forest fires throughout Florida. A couple hundred acres of the bombing range burned. I'm not up on the full amount. I've been walking the Mall most every day. You know what they say, "Use it or Lose it." Most of the times Teri goes along with me. By the way, daughter Brittany had a baby boy. He's named Evan. Great grandparents again. It's 2 a.m. now and I am watching Fox News on my Zidoo X6 Pro. You know I no longer have Directv. Gave that up and get about 50 channels OTA. Until next time, 73 from Highlands County.
Frank Robinson IAMsorry that we are not with you, two are haveing a ball in joy your trip we will fallow you along and in joy all the pitchers that you take God Bless
