Day and Date: August 19, 20, 21, 2017
Temp: 65 degrees, high of 92
Saying for the day: Don't every save anything for a special occasion, being alive is a special occasion.
19th: This is a nice park and lots of paths for walking, which we did in the a.m. right away before it got hot. Searched the town for Eclipse glasses but none anywhere, all sold out. IGA had 3,000 of them and, all gone!
20th: Leave at 7:40 a.m. and 65 degrees again; watch the GBC service while we travel. Will drives and listens. We see a beautiful white breasted hawk on a fence post; looking it up, he's a Ferruginous Hawk, native to the West. We see lots of critters today: deer, hawks, coyotes and a poor, dead red fox by the side of the road.
Enter Nevada at 9:05 A big note: Lyon Co., NV at 11:50 and we reach 10,000 miles for the trip! Wow!
Arrive Whiskey Flats, RV, Hawthorne, NV
How long staying: 2 nights
21st: Eclipse Day! Not too much seen here in Hawthorne but we did experience a partial one. 83%
Next Stop: Las Vegas, NV, Arizona (?) Charlie's RV Park
