Will-and-Marge's Great Adventure to Alaska
Friday, April 21, 2017 Leave at 8:30 a.m cdt and drive 278 miles
Saying for the Day: A day is a span of time no one is wealthy enough to waste.
A bright and sunny morning! It's a great day for travel. Good bye to the beautiful shades of green and Betty King’s old stomping grounds. We had a lovely stay. Off to Illinois today, Whittington Woods.
And the sunny day is history. Running into rain the closer we get to Nashville.
Gas $2.02, guess we better not get used to it the farther West we go.
Nashville Skyline at 9:30. A couple new high rises going up. Nissan Stadium and home of the Tennessee Titans.
Beginning to look a bit more like the Midwest, topographically speaking. Flat farmland.
Kentucky at 10:10. Across the Tennessee River once again.
Happy Birthday today to Bruce Spencer! And I think Sam King’s birthday was yesterday! Blessings on your birthdays guys!
Noon and a drop to 55 degrees, a bit cooler now.
Cross the Ohio River, a biggie, and that takes us into Illinois.
Lots of rain beginning, at least it’s on the downside of the day’s travel. And we knew it was coming.
Arrive Whittington Woods Campground at 3 pm in the pouring rain, but the sky is bright. Two relaxing days in store for us now. (50 degrees now)
