Will-and-Marge's Great Adventure to Alaska
– Here we are one month out from leaving for our Alaska trip. So many things to do to get ready for this ‘big’ trip. We’ve planned for 2 extra spare tires, on rims, for the truck and trailer; spare alternator, starter, serpentine belt, tire tools and repair kits, etc.
It’s too early to be thinking about clothes, but thinking about it I am doing regardless. We will need all 4 seasons clothing and since the back of the truck will be filled with tires, spare parts, and tools, we have to be creative inside the trailer. Fortunately, we have under bed storage and we can put a couple fairly large containers with extra clothing under there, along with extra shoes and our laundry tote. We have over bed storage, as well as 2 closets in the bedroom and a large closet in the bathroom. So I think we can manage to take all we need, just not as much as we’re used to taking. You might see us in the same clothing a few times in the pictures.
Will continues to get the truck road worthy, all systems checked and taken care of, all up to date on oil and fluids, tires rotated, etc. There are boxes of medical supplies, pills, and a large box for desk supplies – all appropriately labeled for easy access where they will be stored, under the couch storage. If anything, the trailer has a lot of storage places. There is also storage under our bench seats to the dinette and that’s a huge help. One holds pots and pans; the other is for sundry items: extra batteries, mosquito candles, small tools, outdoor lights and wooden sign, etc.
More updates to come soon.
