After having a most deserved li-in, we checked out of Reggae House 2 & into Reggae 1 (this time legitimately) & then caught the bus to the Batu Cave system. Guarding the entrance to the caves was a humungous golden statue & about 200 odd steps. After losing half our body weight in sweat, we reached the top of the steps & proceeded to look at the different cave formations & different temples that were built inside of them. Soon it was time to come back down again, which thankfully was a lot easier to do. Walking around the bottom of the caves, we saw some more of the large statues that looked like some of the enemies out of Power Rangers. We also saw quite a few monkeys. Heading back to the centre of KL on the metro, we scored some cheap tickets to the KL Tower (this is better than the Petronas Towers as the viewing deck was 100m higher) & planned to head there for sunset over the city. It had started spitting with rain but undeterred we headed there on the metro. Bad idea!!! Upon exiting the metro station, we were greeted with a downpour of monsoonal porportions. After waiting for an hour or so for the rain to pass, we gave up & headed back to our hotel (our tickets were valid for 6 months, so we weren't missing out). Next door to our hostel was the aptly named Raggae Bar, so we headed there for a few beers & to shoot some pool. Here we met an english couple & an Aussie couple who 'somehow' convinced us to stay out all night & drink with them. Who would have thought it????
