14th September

Today we went to Switzerland for lunch. I just love the way that that sounds! Instead of driving to the other side of the lake, like yesterday, we decided to take the car ferry over. Very short trip about 10 mins. Lugano is about ½ hours drive from Menaggio where the boat drops you off. Lugano is on Lake Lugano and is a lot smaller than Como or Lake Como. Not as picturesque. We walked around did some shopping , had some lunch and came home. Right on the lake front are beautiful gardens with some strange sculptures, see photos. I think that this was the prettiest part of Lugano.

In the afternoon I went for a walk and found a path that headed right up into the hills behind Lenezzo. I got a bit scared so came back and got Gary. The track led up to an 11th century village, or what remained of it, which wasn't much. Very hard walk good training for Gary.

Tomorrow we leave to go back to France. We are headed for Villeneuve-Loubet, which is near Cannes on the French Riviera.
