September 11th
We are sitting in our apartment on Lake Como watching the most spectacular storm. There is thunder echoing through the valley, lightning flashing and hail stones the size of jaffas. Welcome to Lake Como. We arrived into town to find the access road to our village, Lezzeno, closed. Road works apparently. So time for Basil to find an alternate route. We drove in to Bellagio via the mountains. What a spectacular view. Once again, this place is amazing. It's nice to see some beauty made by mother nature instead of man. The lake is in a valley surrounded my huge mountains on all sides. These mountains are covered in snow in winter.
When we arrived the landlady kindly offered us a different apartment that was larger as the people who were supposed to be coming couldn't. We have so much room, bigger than anywhere that we have stayed recently. After settling in we drove back to Bellagio to buy supplies. It was a cute little expensive village. Bough bread and cold meats, and sat outside under the verandah and watched the storm roll in.
Matt arrives tomorrow night so we are just deciding how to fill in our day until it's time to pick him up.
