So we spent 3 nights in Santa Barbara, now this place is really beautiful! its like your perfect oil painting of a glorious coastal town! Its got a real spanish feel about the place, yet its own quirky american feel too....... if that makes any sense! you can look high up into the mountains one way then the other look miles out into the Pacific Ocean! it has some amazing shops and houses here! the streets are really tidy and clean and just seems a million miles away from LA! plus people round here seem pretty normal for a change! we just spend 3 days chilling out on the beach, walking around. the pier is really nice, some amazing fish restaurants on there! we actually went for a Lobster each on there for our last night! it was pretty cheap aswell, locally caught so we ate like kings on our last night. Me and Dan hired Kayaks one day and popped out for a spot of Whale spotting, Blue Whales and Orca's are common around here but all we found was 7 seals bobbing about on a bouy a mile off shore!!! still good though.
from here we travelled to 6 flags magic mountain theme park, the best theme park in the world!!! well for us guys anyway, been the roller coaster junkies we are! 14 of the best where here! we spent from 10:30am til 6:00pm riding on some of the most hell raising rides you can imagine! it was like heaven believe me! haha. doesnt sound much fun but believe me, for Dan to spend his last day there was like a dream come true for him! after that we check into Venice Beach, a small hostel for 3 nights before we fly out to the south pacific! Venice Beach........hmmm, what can i say...... i know, FREAK SHOW!!! yep, this place has it all. every street act under the sun trying to make a quick buck by walking on glass, eating fire, swinging snakes round there necks oh and even an old guy sitting singing "jingle bells jingle bells help me get drunk" and thats all he ever says! oh there was a pissed up guy trying to get out a stright jacket too which was quite funny, once he dislocated his shoulder!!!! plonker! so yeah, Venice Beach is a real good way to leave the US, surrounded by a bunch of wacko's!
Well our time in the US has finally come to an end, to be quite honest Adam and I are ready to leave. Its been a real adventure driving across the states from East to West and probably the best way to really get a feel of America as a whole. The diversity from state to state is huge, from the dry deserts of Arizona and Utah to the lush green snow crested mountains of Colorado to the amazing beaches and towns of Claifornia, the US has it all. Its such a shame the laws and some of the people can be abit extreme! all in all though a memorable 5 weeks!
until next time people, i shall be 11 hours behind the UK on some desert island in the middle of the south pacific!........sounds great!!!!
