Goooooood day to you all!!!!!
well its been another action packed week without writing anything on here! just having the time to update it is quite difficult when you have so much to see and do. however i do manage to pick up all messages from people on my message board which is greatly appreciated. thank you all who have written something so far, keep them coming, they always keep us smiling!!
anyway........ we ended up spending 3 days in flagstaff, it is quite a nice town really, student capital of Arizona so its quite a little party town! saturday night we headed out for a night on the tiles. we end up getting completely trashed out of our trees and feeling very ill for a couple of days! what we didnt realise, Flagstaff is 7500ft above sea level so getting drunk as a skunk is very easy and recovery is extremely slow........ not good when you want to see and do so much. sunday, we decide to drive (maybe not a good idea the next day) to a place called Sedona, a small town with a beautiful river which runs through the red rocky valley! huge flat rocks to sunbathe on and keep water holes to dive in, was just what we needed to sober up abit!
Monday - Grand Canyon Day!!!!! - after an early night because we where so ill from the night before an early start to drive to the canyon was on the cards. once there we where greeted with the most amazing sight in the world! the canyon size and shear beauty was mind blowing! we just stood there completely speechless, it just looked like an oil painting! the views where seriously, something else! the whole south ridge was a place of piece and tranquility and by far the most impressive sights iv seen so far! and we have seen a few on this trip! after trekking down into the canyon around 1500 ft we where greated with a 110 degrees F of heat! not very plesent at all. a quick photo opportunity and a drink before we headed back to the top! it was serious hard work! by this time now it was time to take a seat somewhere for one of the greatest shows on earth, sun set over the Grand Canyon! we found a great little spot and perched there for an hour watching the sun slowly set over the canyon! nothing was said between us for all this time! as Dan said "it was a special moment" haha! after watching that, and trekking around the canyon all day an early night was called for before an early start to drive to Americas Playground.......... LAS VEGAS!!!!!
Tuesday, after a 4 hour drive into Nevada, over the Hoover Dam (impressive) we drive up the famous Las Vegas strip! we score a good deal at the Monte Carlo Hotel, something like $60 a night during the week for the room so it worked out 9 quid each a night! not bad for a 4 star hotel!!!! Vegas is a crazy place, every casino and hotel has something amazing about it, from gondolar rivers in hotels to paris shopping streets! Vegas has everything! we meet the lads up for a couple of drinks and a gamble of course! me and Danny manage to take $900 out of the bellagio on our 1st night which was spot on! just what i needed, some extra, unexpected cash! 3 card poker rules!!! some people know, im very lucky when it comes to winning money! haha.
ma dan and adam spend 3 days next to the pool, lied catching sum serious well needed rest! the days and nights are extremely hot! around 40 degrees most days! we all wanted to ride the New York New York rollar coaster one night and also ride the Stratosphere rides which was done very successfully! they where awesome rides! the whole 3 days was topped off with an amazing fountain show outside the Bellagio, a Oceans 11 moment for us all right there! all in all Vegas is everything i expected and more! ill definately will be going back but maybe with abit more of a flexable budget!
Friday, we catch the lovely (NOT) greyhound bus to LA! where booked back into a Hostel again after our 4 star pampering! we end up in West Hollywood at Banana Bungalows! nice little place, quiet! 1st night was a free BBQ and $7 all you can drink! oh yes it got abused!!!! we end up drinking the bar dry, as you do! get word of some Frat Party up in Beverley Hills, so 29 of us think its a great idea to go and gate crash it! we turn up at this pad and are welcomed with open arms! it was a right laugh, beer pong and many games of flip-cup where played! by now it was 6am!!! it was all well worth it though.
Saturday was none existant! infact i cannot really remember what i did saturday! it might come to me at somepoint.........oh there we go, i remember, we went to Santa Monica Beach! all ready to have a sobering up session in the sun, we turn up at Santa Monica and its thick fog! yep, we may aswell have been on Scarborough sea front! it was freezing! we grab something to eat and head stright back to hollywood to warm up!!!
sunday we didnt do much again! Dan and Adam have been quite ill really, especially during Vegas, Adam managed to pick up some chest infection and Dan a Cold of all things! Adam walks around like a local Pharmacy, im sure i can hear him rattling down the street he is that full of medication! anyway there both much better now so stop worrying mothers!!!! we decide though sunday night to get wasted back at the hostel with some irish girls! ended up playing some drinking games again until about 5am!
so as you can imagine, today where all pretty rough again, we have moved hostels now, somewhere more central, we are 2 mins from the walk of stars, Hollywood Blvd! u can see the Hollywood sign from our hostel, its great! think we plan on a trip to universal studios tomorrow and then renting a car and driving to San Diego and San Francisco! we are all sick of Americans though, infact i think its more America, Tax and tipping on everything! those greedy......... you get what i mean!
over and out!
