When we got to Varanasi, we checked in earely doors to the nicest hotel so far. A propper duvet! On the night time, we jumped into tuk tuks which took us to the river banks of the Ganges.
It was raining really heavily. We got into a boat the took us to a motor boat futher out into the river. He then sailed upto the procession. Everyday, rain or shine they do a procession that is tribute to all the Gods, on after the other. Then a girl came onto the boat
and gave us all floating candles to make a wish then send floating down the river.
We then sailed down to the only temple that burns bodies 24/7. We wern't allowed to take photos. It was the most surreal thing we'd ever seen, words cannot describe. 15 bodies were being burnt at the time.
We then went for a really nice meal overlooking the Ganges, then went in the town to try some 'beete', which is the stuff everyone spits out all over the place. It's kind of like a breath freshener.
The next morning was an early one, as we were getting the boat to go the other way along the river to see all the Ghats. People were bathing, and there was a guy there that had devoted his whole life to Sheeba that covered himself in ashes to make him white. Bit weird.
We attempted to walk around the city, but its tiny street, and poo everywhere, so we headed back.
We all had drinks at the hotel bar, and said goodbye to some of the group who were leaving tomorrow.
