We spent today in transit - first a drive to Vancouver and then a flight to
LA. The drive from Whistler to Vancouver was on the Sea to Sky Highway which is very picturesque, especially from Squamish to Vancouver. We travelled this road weeks ago when we took the bus tour to the Sea to Sky Gondola but we couldn't see much of the view because of the advertising all over the bus. It was nice to see it today.
Not far out of Whistler there was a sign saying to be careful of bears for the next 60kms. Unfortunately we didn't see any. This photo is one we saw yesterday.
We went through US customs at Vancouver airport which was much quicker than in LA. Once we landed in LA we went straight to the baggage claim and out the door. It seems so long ago that we were here. We have certainly seen some fabulous things since then. Canada is a very beautiful country. Alaska was beautiful too but different because of the wilderness areas.
We hit peak hour in LA by the time we got the hire car. We decided to stop at a shopping centre on the way to the hotel as I am looking for Jurassic World lego for the boys. It turned out to be a much bigger centre than expected so we managed to spend a couple of hours in there so the traffic had cleared by the time we came out. Tomorrow afternoon we go back to LAX to pick up Robyn's friend Caroline who is flying in from the UK.
