Current location, El Calafete. After another wonderful 20hr bus journey, and not a ham and cheese sandwich in sight, we arrived in El Calafete, renouned for in national park and mahusive glaziers. For some reason Rose and I found ourselves bird watching yesterday, in an area inundated with amazing birds and all we saw were ducks! End of that hobby! So a bit more adventure for today, glazier watching! Went to the national park in El Calafete where there is a magnificent glazier just plonked between the mountains, looks so odd just sitting there, and so dense that the ice is a stunning blue. You basically stand on the various viewing platforms and stare at it in awe hoping a great big chunk will fall off, which happens about once an hour if you are lucky, as it moves 2 metres everyday. Sounds like a massive explosion when it happens, so cool! (Excuse the pun!).
Now off to El Chalten to find more glaziers for new years! x
