Ok, so most of you heard how the ice trekking went. Something along the lines of. . . . . 12hr trek, 6hr to get to glacier and trek on it, absolutely amazing, such an experience. Even more so when you fall on the glacier, injure your leg, cant walk, get a 10 man mountain rescue to carry you back to the town. Dont worry it only took the 6hrs to get me up and down the steep cliffs, over the glacier and through the forest. All well now, walking unaided and less like and invalid! Needless to say my New Years Eve was spent partly in a hospital in a town 400 strong, so small it doesnt have a cash point!
Now in the chocolate city of Argentina, Bariloche. And they are not joking the stuff is everywhere, you feel rude for not trying it, all the time! Back in a warm sunny climate again, always good. They appeared to build El Chalten in a wind tunnel. Stunning views everywhere you go, lakes and blue skies all around! Went down to the beach today on the edge of one of the lakes. Very strange, scorching sun, snow capped mountains in the back ground, freezing cold lake water! But well worth it, was thinking of you all in cold, wet England!
Not long left now, 9 days to be precise! Off to Santaigo and the beach for next week, last 24 hr bus journey. . . . yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
