Sa wat dii khrap!
Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well?
We've had a great couple of weeks, starting off with our Padi Open Water Course - 4 days with 5 boat dives and time in the pool for learning the skillls and an exam to finish off, we both passed with flying colours!
We went to Racha Noi, Racha Yak, Annemone Reef and Koku Docmai, saw barracudas, box fish, angelfish and some nemo fish!! It was really hard work but a wonderful experience we won't forget. One dive was a real test - dropped in the middle of the ocean, a strong current and huge waves (we were knackered!), once we made it down it was stunning though, really took your breath away. We had to save some other divers and their boat crew as their engine had conked out, lucky we were there! Also found out Brad gets rather sea sick so no beers for him on the way back :o( Went out and got plastered with our instructor once it was all over.
We've now moved along the coast to Kata, a bustling village, we've stayed at Hat Surin (the playground of the rich and famous!) and Hat Kamala a small fishing village along the way. Have done a little shopping in Patong but couldn't get out quick enough - it's like the Costa Del Sol! We've found some great places to eat where the locals go, especially if you like your food real thai style - spicey as hell! :o)
Treated ourselves to some thai massages and visited some amazing Wat's (temples), went to a show with 20 elephants on stage and a tiger with cubs, a bit touristy but good fun!
Off to Phi Phi and Krabi soon to meet friends and prepare for Sarah's wedding. Take care, lots of love
