We are Sailing
It is currently 10.29, a beautiful cool night, absolutely still, and just the sounds of music and people can be heard.
The day started out with a flurry of activity. Brian wanted to make sure Flight 2 was clean and sparkling for the sailing ahead of us. He is very proud of his yacht, and so he should be it is a real beauty. So the decks got scrubbed and cleaned, we loaded up "Diane" our inflatable boat and we were on our way.
We left Cleopatra Marina at 9.30 It was a little sad leaving as the people at the Marina had got to know us, and were really good. Our next stop was the Leaks Channel, which begins at the town of Lefkas. Entry to the Harbour was restricted to the hour, and we arrived at about 11.15, so we had to wait for 45 Min's before we could enter. During that time Cheryl and Stuart took their first swim in the Med. Diane was getting a little concerned that they were getting Little too far away from the boat, and they may get left behind. I told her not to worry so much, as I had upped Cheryls life insurance before I left.
Anyway, they managed to keep up with us, better than our Olympic swimmers at the moment, and just in time to enter the channel. Bit if a strange set up, but there is a rotating bridge in the channel. It turns, stop the cars from going over, and lets the boats through. Colin Barnett could use one of these on riverside drive.
We sailed along the channel for quite some distance, Brian was getting a bit grumpy with the slow pokes ahead of us, so in the end we just overtook them all.
There is a lot of traffic in the channel, and as always these boats have their well'done (or over done) chicky babes at the front of the boats. Believe me, I now know why god said old woman couldn't wear bikinis.(well if he didn't he should have
