So we fled Goa and arrived in Bangkok after a reletively painless flight, in the early hours of the 25th April 2009 - my 26th Birthday! Yay!

Bangkok welcomed us with typically open arms and a big friendly smile. It was a relief and we both felt happy to be back in Thailand once more. There have been a few monsoonal storms (particularly in Ayutthaya!).

We spent our time in Bangkok exploring the Chatuchak weekend market which is massive! Over 2000 stalls selling all manner of things you might want and whole bunch of stuff you probably don't want... (deep fried grubs and bugs perhaps?). It's great fun to just wander around and do our best to blend in with the primarily Thai crowds.

Of course I enjoyed my birthday because I got presents! Woo Hoo! Lisa bought me a beautiful leather journal in India and a really cool bracelet and pendant. I like presents! The following day we explored China town and had a lovely Roast Duck dinner. The lights are fantastic!

We have both been to Bangkok before and know that we will return again later in the trip so we are moving on fairly swiftly.
