Welcome to our travel blog!!!
Throughout 2009 we have been visiting countries all over south east Asia, from Cambodia to Singapore and had the time of our lives. We spent the first few weeks in Goa, but soon left for the delights of Thailand were Warner had the chance to catch up with old friends and I had the perfect setting to spend time on my much loved hobby - Photography.
We ventured to new places, and were blown away by the beauty of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in Cambodia, a place we hope to visit again. We missed out on Vietnam and Laos this time but that's for another day!
Our journey took us in and out of Thailand, sampling the delights of the Chiang Night Market, and the fabulous beaches in Krabi. Bangkok became a base for us for a while as the transport links are great from there, however most of our time was spent in the town of Ao Nang in the Krabi province where we had a lovely apartment for 2 months, a great base to explore the islands of Koh Lanta, Phi Phi and the beaches at Railay and surrounding areas.
Our adventure has taken us from the depths of the oldest rainforest in the world to the pristine white sands of the Perhentian Islands, from the ruins of Angkor Wat to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur; we have a new love of countries such as Cambodia and Singapore and a better understanding of Asian culture. We love our Thai curries and can't get enough of them and really miss the culinary wonders found at street markets there really is nothing else like it!
We have had a fab time, and hope it won't be too long before we set out again.
