Harajuku. Ometesando. Cat Street. Aoyama.
We walked through 4 different Tokyo shopping districts before lunch today, each one catering to a different demographic.
Harajuku is the most famous; catering to teenagers, specializing in fairy tale, pop culture trends. Unfortunately, we missed some of the most outrageous "fashions", as many of the weirdos only come out on Sundays.
Ometesando is Tokyo's answer to Paris' Champs Elysées, a tree-lined boulevard of luxury brand flagship stores. Not our cup of tea, but nice enough for a stroll. Aoyama follows next with the landmark Prada building and some more exclusive designer shops.
Cat Street is my favourite area, connecting Harajuku and Shinjuku, with a more creative, mellow vibe. It had the nicest, most stylish Starbucks I've ever scene.
Back to Harajuku for lunch, where we had fantastic Indian-Nepalese curry lunch sets.
