Horrible evening and feel like garbage today but thankfully left our abode (after I made him cook me a lovely breakfast) and drove towards our next bit of adventure in gorgeous weather.
We headed towards Hamilton and then turned west again on our way to Strathgordon. Went thru lovely county that was filled with acres of hop vines growing up the struts and in full flower, also raspberries and blackberry fields abundantly ready for eating but we refrained. Stopped at Russell Falls for a walk into the moss covered tree ferned wilderness to these spectacular
falls, fantastic surroundings and we ended up having our leftovers (mushed up rissoles
or as one with any sense would call it.....bolognaise) for lunch on wraps - much better.
After lunch we did a drive from Russell Falls up, and I mean up, 16kms towards Dobson Lake. Winding road that gave a few scares with others coming down but delightful scenery way up thru the clouds literally to absolutely stunning blue skies. The terrain changed to snow country with the orange poles becoming a lot bigger indicating huge snow drops. So happy we made the effort it was a lovely place and we did a walk around the lake, so very beautiful. He did get a bit lost and led me up a path that went to nowhere but all okay in the end.
Finally on our way to our destination and traversed some spectacular mountain ranges and lakes quite beautiful and we intend to spend time exploring over the next couple of days. Arrived at Lake Pedder Wilderness Centre and our accommodation in a cabin is wonderful. I sit here with the evening sky lighting up the hills and in the distance the lake with beautiful orange glow after a
delicious dinner and wine and the looks of the bed is very welcoming. Washing has been done and drying happening so we will be clean and well fed and looking forward to seeing more of this
wilderness. Absolutely no connection to the outside world but hey the world will keep turning without us involved so we will just enjoy. Love to all.xxx
