Not sure why but half my entry didn't attach to part one( maybe it's tired of my postings) - anyway here's the extra part of today ten
...........
I ask him about the shooting and he communicates that today there was no success and it was birds that were his target. As we walk we will occasionally here the sounds of gun shots ricocheting in the hills - hopefully not towards us weary pilgrims. This hunter was very jolly and gave us a cheery farewell.
Our town for the night is Golinhac, and of course it is perched high in the hills- our chamber d'ote delights us as it has soap and towels plus a little clothesline outside for the washing. It's amazing how these simple things can delight.
We arrive at our chamber d'hote in time to see the Belgian girl before she catches her bus back to Le Puy & then onwards to Brussels. We find more and more that the young people are well educated with the knowledge of languages and invariably they have a good grasp of English and so it is with this Belgian lass. We chat easily and I am sad that it was only a short association as you could tell she was a very interesting person. She said that this was her first attempt at a Camino to give it a trial and has already decided to come back to walk some more. She asked where we were from and when I said Sydney - she immediately said I thought so as she had read my note that I had left in the book of the house that provided the free coffee yesterday. Just as she collects her bus the young German and his friend we met at this morning's boulangerie arrive in the village but only for a rest as they have decided to push on for another 10 kilometres. I am glad it is them and not me as I don't think I have another ten kilometres in me.
This has been the tenth day and I thought surely I would feel an increase in the level of fitness by now considering the amount of exercise we are doing each day, the calories we are burning and the strengthening of the arm and leg muscles. But it appears that each day is the same and as we get to the afternoon stretch we feel completely exhausted and it's a hard slog. Who knows if it will be like this in another 30 days or so?

Joanne Karcz Phew. I feel exhausted just reading this. How many kms are you averaging a day? Perhaps give yourself a blogging break and have a night off without writing.
Tom Yep we walked 7 days on Mont Blanc and I was as tired on the last day as the first .. like life really .. just when you work out something you are confounded by another challenge
Anne At the moment we are averaging around 20 kms a day Jo, except when there are little detours and we went off track the other day to nearly 30km. I know that with this terrain it is a comfortable amount of kms for us to experience the way. Our rest days have been most enjoyable.
