We are delighted to be back again in southern France, after only a 9 month absence this year. We arrived the last day of May, & have been enjoying the sunshine & clean air in our lovely little village, overlooking vineyards, olive trees, & mountains.
Once we get through the internet & phone issues, all will be almost perfect. We have 3 nice trips planned, spaced evenly through our 3 months here, & have already enjoyed 2 full weekends, visiting our favorite places. And of course taking advantage of excellent food & really good wine.
Generally, it takes us 2 weeks to get back to what we call normal. I work in the garden (so many weeds & an overabundance this year of NEW weeds due to early heat) in the mornings, & retreat inside for the heat of the day. At last I can say that we've done our "arrival clean-up", & all the weeds, twigs, branches, etc. are now desposited at the local "Déchéterie".
Les works via the internet, so with the time change, he starts talking via phone or zooming around 1:00 French time, & works until about 8:00 pm. Our recent internet failures have been frustrating, but we are due for a new "livebox" very soon, which should solve the problem.
A picture is worth a thousand words, so check out our photo albums which will give you an idea of our daily lives as well as our adventures. There always seems to be some wonderful event, some great exhibition, or some fun concert to attend, as we work & play our way through our summers here. In these last 2 weekends, we've been to Uzès in the mountains, to La Grande Motte for the Mediterranem, to Marseille for several exhibitions, & to nearby Nîmes for a movie & a museum exhbit on the Etruscans. Check out our photo albums because each place was an absolute joy to visit.
Have a great rest of June!
