Hi Everybody!

How fitting that we saw this tower yesterday on our trip into the Cevennes Mountains. Time IS flying! We have only 4 weeks left here in France this summer, & we intend to take advantage of every one of them!

Fun on the home front in Villevieille:

Projects this past week: painting bathroom tiles & a new "toile" on our awnings! We are making great progress!

Projects this coming week: getting the rosemary in check & putting in new kitchen counters.

From land to sea to the mountains...

This past week, we took a short road trip to see a Sigma Chi buddy of Les', from the U of Illinois. Garen & his girlfriend Diana had been vacationing in La Dordogne, & we agreed to meet halfway in Toulouse, a city we'd visited before. (We were there last year with DC friends Penny & Doug to visit Airbus.) It's an old stop on the pilgrimage road to Compostela, in Spain, & full of interesting things to see. Together, we visited the lovely Cathedrale St. Sernin, the Cloitre des Augustins, & the Bemberg Foundation. We really enjoyed being with this delightful couple & had much in common with them. And we loved the street actors & the gargoyles (see album week 8)!

This past weekend, we went down to the Mediterranean & up to the mountains. We are always amazed at how quickly the topography changes in France. So much variety in such a small country. Check out our photo album for Week 8 to see some of the fun things we found to do. (Like seeing Elvis & Haight Ashbury in the mountains!!!)
