What a difference a day makes. One day to just lie around and do absolutely nothing if you choose to. Aside from breakfast, we all stayed in our rooms today. Except for the fact that my air con wasn't working and I needed to change rooms, it was the perfect day.
Once the weather cooled down a bit (it got to 38 degrees here today), Julie, Thurza and I walked down to the beach. The water is so warm it's like a bath, so I'm not sure how it really helps you cool down, but it was refreshing (or at least my ankles thought so!!!)
There were people everywhere! The above picture just doesn't capture it properly, but this beach is the Vietnamese version of Bondi on a stinking hot day.
Everyone comes down towards dusk to cool off after the warm days. Kids are playing, making sandcastles and teenage boys are playing soccer on the sand.
We walked to have some dinner at a beach front restaurant called the 'Blue Whale', although much more expensive than we've been used to in the rural areas, it was delicious. We sat and watched a storm roll in with rain and large sheets and bolts of lightening and thunder.
Once the rain stopped and we had eaten enough, we headed back to the hotel. We have an early start tomorrow - 6am for breakfast and hit the road for the project area at 6:30am.
Tomorrow I'll be interviewing the Vice Chairman of the Education Bureau in the local area and more primary school teachers. In the afternoon I will also be interviewing PWD who have received vocational training and then a visit to the home of a person with disability. All this before we leave the community at 4pm and return to Danang around 6pm.
