The three of us woke up quite early this morning, as Phoebe had to go and put her car in for a service, while she did this I stayed at the house and got ready. After Phoebe got back we went to drop Sandy off at her flat in Fremantle and the three of us went for breakfast at this cool little cafe. It was so nice being able to order Muesli, yoghurt and fresh fruit for breakfast and it was so good. We had a walk around Fremantle, which is the 'St Kilda' area of Perth, which has loads of shops and cafes.
Phoebe had her Mums car for the day, so we went down to a marina on the river close to her Dads work, which was full of huge yachts and we looked right over to the city centre. We then went for a drive into Kings Park, which looks right over the river and down to the city centre. It was 38 degrees and ridiculously hot as it was the middle of the day when we were there and went for the walk around the botanical gardens. At the end of the walk I was melting big style :) At least all the cars and houses here have air conditioning which is a bonus.
It was far too hot to go to the beach at this time, so instead we went and got some things Phoebe needed for her move and I tried to get my new camera sorted. My camera that I bought 3 weeks ago in Sydney, has a crack in the corner that I discovered last week, so since I have a years warrantee with it when I bought it and I havent dropped it or anything, I thought it would be simple to exchange it. BUT no it's not at all. Sony is rubbish. We went to the Sony repair centre in Perth and they weren't any help either. It's so annoying because it's faulty and because of the crack it means its no longer waterproof so I can't use it when I am tubing in Laos or snorkelling in Thailand. Grrr. I did get a letter from them, so I can try and sort it out when I get home.
We came back to the house to cool down and have a small snack. I phoned Nicole to see what her plans were for evening. We decided to go down to the beach for a swim to Cottesloe which is the main touristy beach. It had a gorgeous tea house on the beach with tiered grass banks coming up from the sand. The waves were quite big when we got there so decided not to go for a swim but instead to have fish and chips on the beach. We bumped into Phoebes sister Tilly, who was there with her friends so we had our fish and chips with them.
The fish and chips were so good, and it was such a nice evening sitting on the grassy banks watching the sun set. It was really busy, people were having picnics and celebrating birthdays so there was a lovely atmosphere for a Monday night.
Nicole came round to Phoebes afterwards and we watched Sydney White, which was an ace american chick flic that I hadn't seen before. I was shattered by the time we went to bed though, ready for a good nights sleep :) xxx
