When my alarm went off at 9.30am I could have died. I was so tired and maybe not feeling a 100%, but you have to remember it was my last night in Sydney and I had to make sure I left in style!!! What a super night it was too :)
We all had to be checked out by 10am. Clark was checking into a hostel in Kings Cross until his cousin arrived on the 30th and Neil managed to find an apartment floor to spend the next 7 nights. It wasn't much fun packing and the room was a complete tip.
Anyways my flight wasn't until 13.45 so I headed up to the Sony shop to see if it was at all possible to get my camera fixed and of course it wasn't. Insurance job it was then! I went round a few places and ended up buying another Sony one that's waterproof.... So hopefully it'll survive if it ends up soaked in beer. It looks a smart camera, i cant wait to use it and fingers crossed I'll manage to keep this one for longer.
I went back to the hostel to collect my bags (which weighed a ton) and walked to the train station. It was only a 15 minute train to the airport and managed to check in really quickly.. thank goodness because I couldn't have carried my bags any further.
I flew with Tiger Airlines today, as they were super cheap. It was this airline that was shut down not long ago for flying too low and they have a terrible record for cancelling flights and apparently they're never on time. Anyways after all the horror stories I had heard, I was wondering whether I would actually reach Melbourne alive or not, but I didn't have a single hold up or one problem. The flight was on time, I was in row 1 so extra legroom :) and it all went smoothly.
Chris the girl that was volunteering at the same time as me in Kenya, met me at the airport which was so good of her and we drove down to St Kilda. I had booked a hostel for my first two nights as I wasn't sure what her plans were nor Kats plans.
Chris's boyfriend is also called Chris so it's a bit confusing at times, but we went to Beachhouse for dinner and Kat came and joined us. It was great seeing Kat again and reminiscing with Chris about our time in Brackenhurst. Chris's boyfriends family owned the restaurant, and he paid for us all which was so so nice.
I was shattered though and was in need of a shower by the time we left the restaurant. Chris dropped Kat off at her house and then took me to my hostel. I was being spoilt rotten being driven about... Chris is ace hehe. She's even invited me to go to this house on the beach for the weekend with her and her family for new year. I don't know what to do though as I don't want to put anyone out.
Anyways getting the hostel for two nights was fine, I had about 7 days of my blog to catch up on and needed a few early nights. I showered and was on my bunk by half 8 :)
Jen then phoned on skype so managed to eventually catch up with her and here all about her Christmas. It's now just about half 11 so my early night hasn't really worked out the way I had planned.
I'm loving being back in Melbourne though and looking forward to the next part of my trip here :) Oh and the hostel Adz recommended that I'm staying in, is amazing. En suite, free wifi, free breakfast every day and a free dinner on a Thursday!!!
Better catch some zzzz's now though. Goodnight Melbourne!!!! xxx
