We arrived in Huacachina at lunch time. Huacachina is an oasis in the middle of the Peruvian desert. We took blankets from the truck and had a picnic lunch next to the lake under palm trees. We were up at 5am ready to leave by 5:30am. All this so we would be in Peuto Inca by 2pm so the boys could watch the football final of the Copa America. We left Chivay in the morning and arrived in Arequipa by lunchtime. After putting our bags in our room we walked to find a museum. It is a museum about an Inca mummy that was found about 15 years ago. First of all they showed a video about the people who found the mummy and also about why she was there. She was a sacrifice to the gods and was only discovered because a nearby Volcano was erupting and had melted the ice on top of the mountain revealing her tomb. ...

We left Raqchi in the morning and had a drive day to Chivay. To pass the time on the truck most of us had our face painted! I was a bee, Sarah a smurf, Shanna an egg, T-bone the Joker, Dee a flower, Jake a snake, Kelly a ladybird, Neil a pirate and Matt an Inca Kola bottle. We looked fabulous! I wonder what the people at the hotel thought when we turned up. We had time to wash off the paint before going out to dinner. We had dinner in the coldest restaurant ever....
