It was a long drive day to Cusco and also someones birthday so there was a lot of drinking and fun had on the truck during the day!!! Cusco is also built in a slight bowl. We stopped at the top of the city to look down into the city. Cusco also has a Christ statue watching over the city although it is not as big as the one in Rio.

When we arrived we unpacked quickly and went out for a birthday meal. fter the meal we decided to explore the night life of Cusco! First we went to an Irish bar before heading to a club. It is quite mad! People stand outside offering you free drink tickets if you go to their club. We had several people fighting over our group which meant the number of free drinks went up! We ended up with 6 tickets each for a club called Inca Team. We went inside and spent most of the time on the dance floor. A local man was showing off his breakdancing moves to us. It was a very good night and I got to bed about 4am.

In the morning we had our meeting about our community Inca trek. We met our guide Jonathon who told us all about our trip. We spent the rest of the day picking up the last few things we needed for our trek in town and packing the duffle bags we had been given that the horses would carry for us.

We had an early night ready for the tiring next five days ahead.
