We left Chivay in the morning and arrived in Arequipa by lunchtime. After putting our bags in our room we walked to find a museum.

It is a museum about an Inca mummy that was found about 15 years ago. First of all they showed a video about the people who found the mummy and also about why she was there. She was a sacrifice to the gods and was only discovered because a nearby Volcano was erupting and had melted the ice on top of the mountain revealing her tomb.

After the video we were shown around the museum and could see the pottery and ornaments buried with her. There was even materials, clothes and bags still intact as they had been frozen. Finally we got to see the mummy. Ahe was sat curled up and looked small but you could see her hir, nails and teeth. Incredible really!!

After the museum we went for icecream and then did food shopping forour group meal 2 days later. We then went back to the hotel to get ready for our nght out. As we had plenty of time I made an effort and curled my hair for a change. We net at the hotel bar as we got a free Pisco sour welcome drink each. We then went to a restaurant where they gave us another free Piaco sour each. We had a nice meal and then went to the Irish bar for drinks. Every place seems to have an Irish bar! After a few there we went to a bar / club with a dance floor on the roof. It was a really good night.

The next day most people got up late and spent the day lounging around the hotel pool. We managed to drag ourselves out in the evening for a girly meal, which took forever to arrive! Then an early night as we were up at 5am the next day.
