8am pick up ,met my follow wolfhounders, 3 x Canadian couples and our Irish guide/driver.we headed north west ,our first hike was at bricklieve ,part of the Sligo mountains,up and over farm land,over Peat bogs and up and down sheep tracks.
lunch in the bus as it had started to rain,with thunder and lightening.rain gear on we started up the hillside of carrowkeel to reach the passage tombs.
once there we carefully walked up and over a passage tomb and then crawled into one.our guide explained about the passage tombs,as we all stood in the dark in a very,very old tomb ,there was suddenly thunder sounding very close,a little freaky but quite incredible. back down to the bus and on to strandhill for a seaweed bath.first a steam shower,then a soak in a bath with seaweed for 40 mins.feeling very relaxed we travel to druncliff, a visit to WB Yates grave sight,stayed at the Yates lodge,dinner at the Yates lodge.very tired wee travellers after our big day ,no pub stop that night,off to bed at 10pm.
