OH MY GOD, the scariest thing has happened tonight!!! We had just finished our pizza in this restaurant, when 2 buses collided right outside our window! It was a crossing so someone must have run a red light. But they were both going at some speed! I s*** myself as I thought one of the buses was going to go straight through our restaurant window. As they smashed into each other, the bus that was hit in the side flew across the road into a bank and then down the street crashing into a hotel. So you can imagine what speed it was doing. There was glass everywhere and people lying across the road and street. Between the bus hitting the bank and the hotel, it must have also hit a man, as we walked outside the restaurant we saw a man slumped up against the wall almost decapitated. There was blood all round him, and people started to come up and cover him with bin bags, so i knew instantly he was dead. I've no idea if any of the other people on the floor were dead or just seriously injured. But it was the most horrific moment of my life. It also could have been us, as we were going to the bank after our meal to get more cash, so if we had left less than 5 minutes earlier.. well i dont think i'd be writing this. The sickening thing is i saw one guy taking photos of the bus wreckage AND of the dead man before he was covered! That knocked me sick. So we left the restaurant in a state of shock and headed back to our room to compose ourselves, before having to pack our bags to leave for Brazil tomorrow.
