Today we got up and checked out of our hostel, had breakfast and got a taxi pickup to the airport at 9.30am. It was quite a scary ride, he was snaking in and out of traffic, and i made sure we had our seatbelts on! After last nights episode. Flight into Sao Paulo took just over 2 hrs. We got a buttie on the plane, which makes a change from a manky meal. Arrived and picked up our bags. Having not booked any accommodation we headed to Tourist Info in the airport, but they didnt speak a word of English! They gave us a card for a hostel and told us to get a taxi. Luckily 2 other girls, 1 from Withington! And 1 from Monaghan, Ireland shared a taxi with us. But when we arrived we decided to stay in the 'Formule 1' hotel instead which was opposite, it worked out a quid dearer, but for a private room with bathroom instead of in a dorm. We were told that Sao Paulo is generally safe in daylight but not at night. So we headed out around 4.30pm for some food, which we got off a side stall, then headed back as it started to grow dark. jenny dyed her hair and yet another game of scrabble commenced, in which i was victorious! We thought it would be warmer here as its up north and it was warm at Iguazzu and Sao Paulo is further north than there, but we were wrong. When we landed, our captain said it was 15 degrees! and its drizzled with rain all afternoon and evening. Hoping to leave here on the 30th and get up to Rio where hopefully it will be warm and we can beach it! But not holding my breath.

Got up and onto the metro to get to the main bus terminal 'Tiete' to buy our bus tickets to get to Rio De Janeiro tomorrow. We booked onto the 12.40pm one which takes 6hrs and gets us into Rio at 18.20 ish. The ticket cost 55 Reais which is around 14pounds. We also went to see the Teatro Municipal, and had a wander around the shops. When we got back, went on the internet to look for a place to stay in Rio in Botafogo, but there is only 1 night available in the hostel we found so we'll have to keep looking for somewhere else to stay either when we get there or the following day.
