I spent my last morning in Koreveua snoozing in a hammock and finishing my book.
At 11:30 we were back on the boat after a farewell song to coral view resort; about 1 hour 30 up north.
Unfortunately the weather hasn't been on our side, heavy rain showers on a beach which relies on sunny weather is pretty dull! However I still enjoyed chilling out and reading magazines inside.
This evening we had a buffet dinner and watched the villagers perform while we ate. It was good food (first edible food in a while!) and the singing was good fun.
The resort also Invited us to their kava ceremony. Kava is a drink which is based from a root of the kava plant. It used for celebrations and medicines, and it is drunk in a very traditional way. You have to clap once, say 'bula', down the kava and then clap 3 times.
We had heard bad reviews about the kava, but we felt we had to try it as we will only be in Fiji the once! It tasted liked aniseed muddy water; not the nicest thing I have ever tasted however not as bad as we had heard! Afterwards, my tongue and mouth tingled. Apparently the more you drink, the more of you tingles, and you can get 'drunk' from the kava.
I'm now in bed before 10pm ready for some sleep; doing nothing all day tires you out!
