Day 35 - 37: 20th - 22nd August Puerto Varas
Puerto Varas is a lovely quaint town located on the edge of lake Nahuel Huapi. It is an amazing little town and there is a 75% chance that it was going to rain - I had two great days full of sunshine and one that was full of rain. So the first day I took a tour up to a volcano in the local area. Currently Chile has over 300 volcanoes. The volcano I went to seen was still classed, as active but had not erupted since 1852. There was also a ski resort located on this volcano. Because the day was so clear you could see for miles and miles - the pictures are amazing!!
The next day I wondered around Puerto Varas and went on a long trek up Philli Hill and around the lake it was amazing. I stopped to have lunch looking over the lake and then walked back to sit on the beach for a while and decided to hire a canoe for a bit. It was amazing.
My final day in Puerto Varas was not so great as it was raining a lot, so I decided in the morning to go into Puerto Mott - which was not that great so I came back around lunch time and then decided to plan the next part of my trip and catch up on my blog.
So I have decided that tomorrow I am leaving Puerto Varas to Pucon. Pucon is still in the lake district of Chile but just a bit further North and a few degrees warmer - I think I am going to spend four nights there.
Other than that all is good here I am still having an amazing time and no I do not miss England at all! I am looking forward to getting further north now as it is cold down here!
