DAY 34: 19th August :The Lake Crossing (Bariloche to Puerto Varas)
Unfortunately the day did not start well for me. I decided it would be a great idea to go out the night before. I ended up waking up at 8:40 I was supposed to be meeting at 8:45 about a 15 minutes walk away from the hostel. I ran downstairs and asked the women to call them to see if I could meet them somewhere else - they said I had 10 minutes to get there. By the time I had packed I only had 5 minutes. I ran the whole way and luckily I made it. I got on the bus and got told it was a two hour bus journey so thought I would try and get some sleep.
The weather was perfect for the lake crossing, the sun was shining and there were hardly any clouds in the sky. The Andean Lakes Crossing is the most scenic way to travel from Argentina to Chile. This spectacular crossing of the Andes takes you through lakes and mountains. The crossing includes three lakes: the Nahuel Huapi, Fria and Todos los Santos.
I don't think the pictures show how amazing this journey actually was but the scenery was stunning - it was amazing.
I eventually arrived in Puerto Varas at 8:30 and managed to fins my hostel by 9pm. That evening I went to an Irish restaurant for dinner.
