2nd day in Banff. When we threw back the curtains the sun was shining. In true Vic and Jill fashion we were in our walking kit and out the door. We walked up to the base of Sulphur Mountain. It was hot and sticky work. So we took time out to have a dip in the hot mineral spring pool. It's basically a small outdoor pool. It's Tuesday 28th September. We've left Calgary and are now in Banff. We've gone from sunshine to showers. Typical mountain micro climate. It's 6.27pm and the sun has come out. Pretty town surrounded by mountains. Tomorrow we are going exploring and will hope full take the cable car up the mountain. Internet is a little slow here but we'll try and upload some pics asap.

Wont be doing this every day but it's half past four in the morning here, and we have jet lag and the hotel has WiFi!!!! Arrived about half seven Canada time last night and hunkering down in an airport hotel for a kip before feeling fully refreshed, (not!!!) we pick up the car today. Intend to spend today looking round Calgary before heading off to Banff and Rockies proper tommorrow. Caught glimpses of the mountain out the aircraft window as we came in, really ...

Well here we are.The big day has finally arrived.It's been 5 years since Jill and I sat in a pub and said 'what shall we do when I retire as a special treat?'. It's taken us 2 years to finalise where we wanted to go and 1 year to organise everything. Now we just want to get on a plane and get started. We will miss everyone. See you sll in 4 monthd.
