You'll never guess where we are! Well, actually you might if you had the foresight to look at the little interactive map thingummy on the homepage but anyway we're back in beautiful Bangkok... The last coupla days have pretty much been a nightmare. We've been desperately trying to change our flights to Sri Lanka but to no avail. Everything that could go wrong has. We've had phone lines down, internet down, closed office hours, unreturned emails, workers on leave, no mobile signal....finally got through to Emirates to change the flight but they need our ticket details which we left in Bangkok at my uncle's. Joy. Been trying to get hold of my uncle for the last three or four days, ringing several times a day, left messages and emails to try to get him to email me the info so we could stay in Laos and go on to Sri Lanka. Both of his phones have conveniently decided to stop working and he appears to not have checked his email so yesterday, with heavy hearts we finally had to face the fact that we'd have to get the 14 hour coach to Bangkok to try to get our ticket info ourselves. Only problem being, my uncle has moved and we don't have his new address....time has run out now to change our flights to Sri Lanka though so we're going to have to fly to Sri Lanka on thursday and just pray we don't get blown to smithereens in the ongoing civil war...Life, eh? We're absolutely gutted we're missing southern Laos and Cambodia but I guess everything happens for a reason and that'll just have to be another trip. We should be back in Thailand for New Year hopefully so maybe then... I've barely slept for about 4 mights now because in Vientiane the bed was pretty much a plank of wood and the room was stifling, the next night we had a 10 hour coach journey to Pakse (didn't sleep a wink) and then I couldn't sleep cuz I was stressed out trying to sort out this mess and then we had a 14 hour coach journey last night and didn't sleep a wink then either. Sorry, I'll stop whinging now, we're still in Thailand at the end if the day, there are worse problems, so I'm told. Loadsa love Jessxxxx
