Today we are off down the beach which is a bit of a trek from the apartment. There are no pavements so the walk was made longer as you have to avoid all manner of dangerous things on the roads like cars, lorries, mopeds, tuk tuks, cows, pigs, goats etc. it is mad! Got hassled on the beach by lots of Indians selling DVDs, Jewelery etc. most of them asked me if I was Indian (I really need to stay out of the sun!!) Ended up buying some overpriced jewelery for some peace and quiet. Now up till now Nick and I have been all inclusive as Sara and Joey have had to pay for all our things as we have not got around to changing money but tonight was the night and we had arranged with the caretaker of the complex to change some Australian Dollars into Rupees. Nick had already told him how much we had to change and he did look a bit worried before telling us he did not have enough and too pop around later. Nick and Joey duly popped around his house this evening to be presented with a carrier bag full of money along with an apology as he had not been able to get all the money but there would be another carrier bag full due in the morning. Fortunately Nick and Joey realized it wasn't quite right (Sara and I would not have had a clue and taken all the cash). On checking it would seem that Jimmy (the caretaker) had added a couple of zeros onto the end of the dollars we had and was trying to give us £2000 of Rupees not £200. It was all sorted though as Nick was able to work out how much he should have. Headed out of for food into town again and had another lovely meal and drinks for £5 each.
