Today is Sara's birthday and she has decided she would like to spin around all day on the moped preferably through the city as it is much scarier (NOT!!) Nick and Joey thought it was fab dodging other vehicles and animals and at one point we almost managed to board a bus and not via the doors as it had no indicators and no brake lights. After our city spin we set off on the open road to go North (through some very dodgy places) finally ended up on the motorway...

Today we had decided to hire bicycles to go exploring further afield. We had briefly considered mopeds but had discounted this idea as the roads are mad. As we were on our way into town we did however notice the roads were much quieter and after a short discussion we realized it was because school holidays were over. Today we decided to go on a walk to some of the other beaches in Goa. 2 hours later and we reach beach number 1 (not sure if we are still in India think we may have crossed a border somewhere but the heat and exertion have made me a bit confused!) We then spent the next 3 hours walking along the beach to get back to Colva (where we are staying) which was worth the trek. Today we are off to see the elephants we set off early all quite excited (especially me and Sara), this however was soon to turn to apprehension when Sara actually met the elephants (she could not believe how big they were??????) Now to be honest I am no elephant expert but I have seen a few in zoos and they have always been big so not quite sure what she expected???? First off we got to feed them then it was down to the river to wash them and then climb on top...

Today we are off down the beach which is a bit of a trek from the apartment. There are no pavements so the walk was made longer as you have to avoid all manner of dangerous things on the roads like cars, lorries, mopeds, tuk tuks, cows, pigs, goats etc. it is mad! Got hassled on the beach by lots of Indians selling DVDs, Jewelery etc. most of them asked me if I was Indian (I really need to stay out of the sun!!) Ended up buying some overpriced jewelery for some...
