Today is our last day in India and we have had a fantastic time. India has not been anything like we expected, in fact it is much cleaner than we thought it would be and very green. I think we have enjoyed so much because there are very few tourists and the country still has its own traditions and values which have not changed to accommodate visitors. Today we set off on the metro to visit the Lotus Temple which was pretty impressive. Went into the information centre to find out all about it but not sure we were any the wiser when we left. Today we managed to sneak out of the hostel so we could travel around Delhi by ourselves as they do not like you doing anything independently they think you need a driver everywhere you go. Managed to find the Metro and got a day pass for next to nothing and it was great. First stop was the Red Fort got off the metro and found we were the only tourists as far as the eye could see (which isn't very far actually due to the smog!!) Had about a 1/4 mile walk to the F...

Had a 6am start this morning to go and see the sunrise at the Taj Mahal which was well worth it. Had a nice wander around as there were hardly any other tourists so early and took loads of photos. Even had one on the Princess Diana seat! Our next visit was to the Agra Fort which again was almost tourist free. We were then on our way back to Delhi which I am ashamed to say we are looking forward to almost as much as the sightseeing as anything can and will happen!...

Today we went sightseeing around Delhi. First stop though was to get a train ticket for Agra (to see the Taj Mahal), two hours later and we have been around most of Delhi and still have no ticket! Decided to give up and try and get there some other way. Next stop was India Gate followed by the presidents house (this was very much like Admiralty Arch and Buck Palace).
