Today we are off on the high speed train to Shanghai, we are a little apprehensive as our experience so far of travelling in China has not been good. Got on the train which all looked okay we did however worryingly have a number of soldiers lined up outside our carraige just standing there watching us?? The girl next to me could see I looked puzzled so explained that they were there to salute one of their commrades who was leaving the forces (he was sat in front of us and cried like a girl when the train pulled off - probably best he is no longer in the army as I don't know how he would hold up in combat!!) Well the train was fab (no smoking or spitting) and we arrived on time as it did 150 mph. Caught the tube to the hostel which was all pretty straight forward for a change.
