My favourite drive so far; Christchurch to Glentanner. A spacious not too many twists and turns and most of all, very picturesque. The campsite was next to Lake Pukaki which when the sun shone it was a beautiful turquoise. Also the helicopters and small tourist plane was based there. A trip to the peaks was $550 so we stayed on the ground! Had a walk to the lakes and took photos and drove into the small village of Mt Cook.
To our surprise the evening temperature was warm compared to the last few nights.
