Our last full day in Morocco and we were determined to chill to the max.....a late start and a very relaxed breakfast was the right way to go.....although Baz's quota of 4 pain au chocolate missing from breakfast was sure to take its toll later in the day....
With our room packed back into our packs and both of us seeming to have more room now.....strange.....it was now time to go into battle in the souk one last time.....they are much quieter and more relaxed in the mornings.....I think the Moroccans are like lizards and need substantial time in the sun before they get going.....
Officially all shopped out now.....at least one of us is....we head for a luxury lunch and some chill time.....and then what to do....? Well we paid for our first tourist attraction.....a palace......think trade descriptions should be enforced....but at least it was quiet(er)? A very sorry looking palace near our accommodation......or a building that was empty with a garden? Think the second is closer....
A break to a terrace cafe.....a local delicacy ordered....not knowing what would turn up we were very pleased when a delight arrived....but with that eaten it was time to return to pack the last shopping items before walking to the train.....the start of a journey that would rival that of the one back from Afghan.....
Deciding that some rolls for tea was a good (and enough nectarines for everyone on the train because it was cheaper than a plum each??) idea we arrived at the station only to be told we couldn't go on the platform yet.....? So it was time to panic the local police by pulling a blade and starting to make our rolls.....with our travel food sorted we were finally allowed on our train.....
Some very strange fellow passengers.....the man that had to have a table seat for his LAPtop for a whole 10 minutes use and in spite of the fact that the others seemed to manage just fine.....the boggle eyed gormless looking kid and his 8 siblings, parents and at least 2 friends trying to squeeze into a small compartment.....at least one giant who spent the journey forgetting which compartment he was in.......the person who doesn't believe the 'no smoking' signs.....it looks like the late trains in Morocco are just as full of the waifs and strays as they are in the UK.....although they are not drunk some do smell like they have been to a wee your pants party.....
The trains are a strange experience as you have no idea if you will have a double decker or carriages from the 70's.....but one thing is a constant....Rach will definitely fall asleep and maintain the mantle of best travel buddy.....EVER!!! Official!!
After 2 trains and little sleep all that was left was the customs and immigration.....all very confusing if you haven't chosen to learn the languages of their choice.....so after being rejected we found a nice man who spoke English and explained we needed to complete a small form.....done and now waiting for a plane.....we are done here.....get us home.....via Madrid for 3 hours.....obviously.....
