Turners on a train
After our final interrail journey, we arrived at the little town of Augustow. We popped out for a quick evening stroll by the canal and although we'd just started to notice fallen leaves, the temperature felt much colder. Sure enough an LED display told us it was a mere 4°C. That night we were glad of our radiator as it got down to -1°C.
Apart from the cold, our time here was lovely. We enjoyed walking round the three lakes and found it a peaceful place. We did get the impression that we were the last tourists in town as everywhere was in the process of shutting down for winter. We quite liked missing the rush though do hope there are enough people who visit to keep all the attractions in business.
