The day after diving we headed to Haad Rin to the Coco Huts where we'd booked in for the 2nd. After getting there we checked out another plavce and found 'The Princess' at 'Suncliff Resort' which was a dream come true! This gaff consisted of our own air conditioned appartment complete with seperate bathroom and living room plus a sea view on a decked area with a hammkock. It also had a beer fridge which was extemely helpful! All of this for about 5 pounds a night!
Haad Rin is basically just the same as your average resort with copious amounts of bars and Internet places bit rubbish really but we had to stay there for Full Moon, the beaches were nice on the plus side and you can do some jungle treks! This is what we decided to do on the fifth, we were told it would take about an hour and a half to complete and was about 4km but what a load of rubbish it took about 2 hours was pretty hard going and was more like 6km. We trekked from Haad Rin to Haad Thian as you can't get there by car, the jump in the sea at the end was well needed. After a bit of a soak we headed back by long boat which are these (as the name would suggest) long boats with huge propellors on the end and a massive diesel engine attached to the boat, the drivers must be well skillfull to dodge all the waves. An experience in itself!
The following day it was Full Moon carnage but this was after me, Mick and Leeroy decided to go to a lighthouse party the night before, probably not the best preparation but its gotta be done! The only thing was that it was absolutely nailing it down with rain! the whole place was pretty much flooded there was no electricty and definately not a party atmosphere. Luckily by about 8ish it all cleared up and after quite a few beers at The Princess we headed down to the beach, whre we consumed several buckets that consist of a bottle of spirtits in each one topped up with several red bulls! Nice!
Unfortunately these buckets effected other people more than others and after Leeroy had done an awesome job painting us up in the 'Team Panda' logo he thought he'd lost his watch (which Warren had on his wrist) which he was distraught about and then proceeded to flake out on the beach! So it was time for Leeroy to go to bed, the fisrt casuality at approximately 12 o'clock, disapointing. G'bo helped Leeroy back and I had a spring roll! We all met up again at The Princess and decided this party wasn't over! We left Leeroy safe and sound and headed back where we were to dance into the sunrise for a good few hours. The night was class, better than I had hoped, I'm glad we did it! Highlight was definaltely dancing in the sea at sunrise!
After a full on days recovery we had the unenviable 12 hour journey to Koh Phi Phi. The journey wasn't too bad although it was raining heavily, its not all sweetness and light! And our boat did break down in the middle of the sea and start taking on water but they started it up again and off we went. Now we're gonna lap up some sunshine and head to the beach from the film 'The Beach' and maybe do some big game fishing, who knows!
